Pump stations can be used to convey municipal, industrial, and domestic wastewater. Pump stations are employed when wastewater cannot be discharged into the sewer system by gravity. This is particularly the case when the wastewater pipe is below the sewer level.
Pump stations are available as single or dual systems with one or two pumps in the shaft. The second pump serves as a backup; both pumps only run simultaneously under full load. To ensure even usage and prevent wear and tear, the pumps alternate operation.
