Are you experiencing problems with backflow in rainwater or sewage pipes due to heavy rainfall or blockages? Don’t worry, we have the solution to protect against it. Problems can also arise from a pump station failure or an overloaded sewage system. Another scenario is backflow from bodies of water due to flooding, where large volumes of water can suddenly occur, quickly exceeding the sewer system’s capacity.
To prevent backflow, we rely on the MwStop®️ backflow valve. It reliably protects against backflow, ingress of water, and foreign objects in buildings, as well as in sewage and rainwater pipes. Furthermore, it offers effective protection against unpleasant odors from the sewer system.
By using the MwStop®️ backflow valve from MTA Messtechnik, the EPC European Pipeline Center, we rely on a regional partner with many years of experience in this industry to promote and strengthen the local economy.
Easy Installation
The MwStop® backflow valve can be easily installed in any common pipe size. Retrofitting into existing networks is also easily possible at any time. This means the MwStop® backflow valve can be easily retrofitted not only in new construction projects but also in existing properties.
Backflow Prevention
The MwStop® backflow valve reliably protects your building from high water levels and flooding. The integrated membrane reliably seals the pipe leading to the property in case of backflow, for example, during severe weather events or pump station failure. This reliably protects your building from floods caused by backflow.
Odor Control
Unpleasant odors from the sewer system are efficiently prevented from entering the building by the MwStop® backflow valve. Furthermore, the innovative membrane seals the pipe when not in use, thereby preventing odor nuisance. Another positive effect is the optimal protection of the property from pests entering through the sewer system.
HOW THE MwStop® BACKFLOW VALVE WORKS
As water flows in the intended direction through the pipe, the MwStop® backflow valve is subjected to increasing pressure. This pushes the membrane upwards, allowing water to flow freely beneath the valve. The rising water pressure triggers a controlled surge flush, which ensures the regular removal of existing sediments. Conversely, the tight seal reliably prevents unpleasant odors in the pipe network. When water flows against the intended direction through the pipe, the MwStop® membrane fills. Thanks to its tight seal, the membrane effectively protects against water backflow into the building. The backflow height varies depending on the MwStop® model (maximum 8,000mm).

LONG SERVICE LIFE
The optimally reduced design and the use of high-quality materials in the MwStop® backflow valve are designed to impress with a long service life. MwStop® backflow valves are also an effective add-on for any property.
INSTALLATION
MwStop® can be installed in virtually any pipe, including retrofitting, in just a few minutes. Therefore, the backflow valve immediately and effectively protects against flooding, foreign objects, and unpleasant odors. The wide MwStop® product range ensures that the right MwStop® model is available for every application. Areas of application include backflow prevention for sewer systems, use in rainwater pipes, or, for example, to prevent odor formation in combined sewers.
MwStop® valves can be installed in various ways and in any position. Full functionality is maintained from horizontal to vertical.
BACKFLOW HEIGHTS
MAXIMUM BACKFLOW PROTECTION
The MwStop® standard models offer backflow protection up to a height of 5,000mm water column.
The Soft versions of the MwStop® backflow valve offer backflow protection up to a height of 3,000mm water column.
Custom designs for backflow protection up to 8,000mm are available upon request.
MODELS
DIFFERENT MwStop® SIZES FOR ALL COMMON PIPE INNER DIAMETERS
MwStop® backflow valves are available as standard up to DN2000. Therefore, MwStop® ® is practically available for all common pipe inner diameters and pipe materials. Special sizes are available upon request!
MwStop® STANDARD
FOR SLOPES ≥2%
To ensure the full functionality of the MwStop® backflow valves in the standard version, a minimum slope of 2% is required. To open precisely, a certain water pressure on the MwStop® membrane is needed. This minimum pressure also ensures that a controlled surge flush is triggered when the membrane opens.
MwStop® SOFT
FOR LOW SLOPES
For installation with a slope of less than 2% (min. 1%), a product version with softer membrane material is used. This ensures that the MwStop® reliably opens even in these cases and provides for the safe discharge of accumulating wastewater, including any deposits.
MATERIALS
HOUSING
The MwStop® housing is standardly made of 1.4404 stainless steel. For sizes up to DN200, for installation as part of a pipe, a PVC/PE variant of the housing can be used as an alternative.
MEMBRANE
The MwStop® membrane is manufactured in EPDM up to DN2000. The membrane is available in two different versions (Standard and Soft).
MwStop® Backflow Valve – APPLICATIONS
There are numerous causes for backflow in rainwater or sewage pipes, such as heavy rainfall or pipe blockages. However, both an operational failure in the pump station and other overloads of the sewage system can become a problem. Another application example is backflow from bodies of water due to flooding. The large volumes of water suddenly accumulating from this can quickly exceed the sewer system’s capacity.
The MwStop® backflow valve protects against backflow, ingress of water, and foreign objects in buildings, sewage, and rainwater pipes. In addition, the backflow valve is an effective protection against odor nuisance from the sewer system.
