Especially after a prolonged cold spell in winter and spring, water pipes, sewage pipes, pumping stations, and pressure pipelines can freeze and become blocked by ice. We resolve operational disruptions quickly, professionally, and with extensive experience.

After a prolonged cold spell that is abruptly followed by a warm phase, the cold in the Alps can penetrate to depths of 0.9 to 1.6 m, depending on the location. Both metallic and non-metallic pipe systems are affected, including collection shafts, water supply systems, pumping stations, and similar facilities.

For thawing and de-icing these pipe systems, we use a variety of special vehicles equipped with different high-pressure pump systems. This enables us to optimally meet your specific requirements. Our hydrodynamic solutions ensure a fast, reliable, and damage-free resolution of your problem.

Today, plastic pipes (PP, PE, PVC) as well as steel and stainless steel pipes are used in household water supply, whether via central systems or well systems. It is particularly critical when the water supply system is laid underground – especially in depths where the ground freezes, in walls, or in poorly insulated underground spaces. Prolonged frosts can lead to pipes freezing here.

Frozen water or sewage pipes can lead to bursts. Contact us if your water pipes or sewage channels need to be professionally thawed and de-iced. We perform these works even at extreme temperatures of up to -25 °C.

Example: Mölltal Wastewater Association in Innerfragant – Thawing and de-icing of the sewage channel (170 m, DN 150) – 4,000 l water, high-pressure water jets at 38 l/min and 450 bar.

Example: Collection shaft of a wastewater drainage system of a retail branch in the state capital, north-facing, with high wastewater volume.

Trigger: Backflow and blockage.
